Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Bad management is exhausting

I’m a hard worker, well organized and efficient. It’s just the way I am. I’m at my best when I’m allowed to operate that way. I have personal satisfaction from doing my work well. But mgmt just won’t let me do my job. There are so many pointless tasks, jumping from one to another initiative, leaving stuff unfinished then coming up with something new (with a pomp, which I never understood). They fail at organizing my team, they fail at utilizing people’s skills and capacity, they fail at everything mgmt is supposed to do. Most of the time I feel tired and exhausted just from not doing the actual work I’m supposed to and good at.

You can work hard, or you can put up with bullsh-t. Not even the most dedicated employee can do both for very long.
