What Micron does to people is terrible. Look at who have been there and what kind of people they are. Micron is a wrecking ball to people and their families.

Management is terrible, most senior staff is awful except for a few. One of those places where if you don't give input and just coast, you are valued, if you like to pitch in and have opinions/suggestions, you are on the chopping block. I believe everyone should go through a job like this though, it teaches you lots of valuable lessons. Also, you will know what you want after working here and understand the industry as a whole much better. Benefits are none, promotions and raises are not, Micron is cyclic and goes through layoffs every 3-4 years so be prepared for that as well.
- Gaslighting culture highly promoted, if you aren't part of it. Expect to be left out and eventually let go.
- Expect to be just a number, no matter how hard you work. When it comes time to making cuts even though they made billions. They will cut you and hire cheaper work.
- Expect your position to dropped eventually, they have been consistently restructuring. They want old out cause of their pay scale and wanting fresh lower pay individuals to do the same job
Go Micron
How do I deal with a jerk boss who suddenly seems to be picking on me and not acknowledging my presence ?
Unfortunately, this is a huge red flag that it’s time to immediately start seeking another job. You’ve been “targeted” - which means nothing you do from here on is going to be “right,” and your time in that role is effectively over. Your boss may simply be getting his/her jollies out by putting you down to make him/herself feel “better than you,” or may be trying to make your environment uncomfortable so you’ll quit, and/or may “set you up for failure” to create issues and a paper trail to justify terminating your employment - or may even manufacture issues to do so. You’re at a point where it’s almost certainly not going to improve, no matter what you do.
Bosses do this usually for one reason: their own insecurity. It serves their own ego preservation to do this. Of course, it’s not good leadership and not good business, but that’s rarely what workplaces are about in the trenches. You may be a very valuable employee, but that won’t keep you safe in this scenario. In fact, it may be your value that has your boss targeting you, as he/she may feel threatened by your ability. And once you’ve been targeted by a boss, it’s pretty much impossible to change that dynamic.
I’ve written about all this extensively in my book, but what you’re experiencing, unfortunately, is a no-win situation. If you try to fight it, or strategize around it, it’ll be ba----g your head against a brick wall. It will get you caught up in an unwinnable game that will sink you further and further into mire, become more and more difficult and upsetting, and could end up costing you a great deal in precious time, energy and mental health. So it’s highly advisable to change your work environment as soon as possible, because unless your boss leaves, you’ll probably end up being booted one way or another, anyway - after you’ve been put through the wringer.
It’s hard to face this fact head-on and not feel there must be a way to overcome this situation. But there isn’t. It’s not fair, and it’s not good business or good leadership, but they hold the cards.
It’s important to remember that it doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you. And - on the contrary - it’s very likely that you’re actually really good at what you do. Or perhaps you are the only one who maintains healthy personal boundaries, and your boss resents you for that, freezing you out in favor of the faves and sycophants that stroke his/her ego.
Jerk bosses like these are a losing battle to take on. Update your resume and start hunting.
having the CEO accent gives one a
+1 buff against layoffs
Does being a privileged skillless way overpaid "upper management" guy confer protection if you have an accent?
"longtime employee confer protection"
thus older and more likely to be let go
unless again they are the privileged skillless way overpaid "upper management"
Does being a longtime employee confer protection?
They’re setting up the 9:30 am meetings mid late July. Be prepared when your mgr suddenly sets up a 1on1 with you at 9:30 off from your normal 1on1.
That is not the only Gargamel- they travel in Micron packs.
Layoff of skillless overpaid numerous untouchable management?
It will never happen.
They will just wash rinse repeat layoffs of the actual workers.
Then get a government bailout. Maybe a Chips Act 2.
Sort of like a Friday the 13th horror movie series.
Jason Voorhies is "upper" management. He cannot die.
Layoff of malignant management?
