Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

I'm getting so tired of this

Instead of being reprimanded or even shown the door, the only "consequence" low performers see is being sidelined. Most of their work is transferred to the rest of us while they're ignored. Why this is being done is beyond me. Why reward somebody for being a bad employee and punish your good employees with even more work?

If you are mad about people having parental leave have yourself a kid and take the leave.

Its because your parental leave comment is s-xist boss. ...At least your team has crosstrained resources who can do the work of the team member who will be out for those 4-6 months. Guess your job just isn't that complex.

Please tell me how my post about the pregnancy leave gets down votes?! I personally don’t appreciate someone being allowed with vacation time to be out for almost 1/2 of the year and having to take on their work. You want to be out that long? Stay home and raise your children. (Whoops. Here comes the down votes. Those darn facts again.)

Have you seen the pregnancy leave? 5 months! All the work falls on others. And that 5 months is in addition to the vacation time accrued so someone could be out 1/2 of the year and work load falls on others.

Make a cheesy post on LinkedIn and tag your boss and bosses boss. You’re guaranteed another year.

Do just enough to stay off the radar. Nothing extra.

Pretty common at risk averse corporations. They're terrified of wrongful termination lawsuits. Both heritage banks had a reputation for being easy to get a settlement out of, I can't imagine that has changed.

Three of my branch leaders finished the year at top three of my area again. They asked for a simple request for working so hard and carrying my area. We pressured everyone on performance mattering and if you don’t perform there would be consequences. These people outperformed everyone and when it came time to show them that their performance mattered, my manager told me we can’t take care of them. So basically my top three performers all had to be shown that their performance didn’t matter, meanwhile those who performed lower than them know nothing happened to them that’s different than those in the top three. When these top three performers said ok, tell the region leader that we are willing to take promotion with no money if they can’t do it, the region leader still said no. The entire company is a complete sham. I can’t even get two of these branch leaders to care anymore to produce because they know everything is a lie about performance mattering. No matter how hard you work, you’re their minion and it’s do as your told or else until they tell you that they don’t need you anymore. Don’t think that good performance will elevate you here, it won’t if it’s “good performance relative to your job” if you catch my drift. This is what this monster has become.

Doesn't surprise me. They seem like more of a social service than a bank in their commercials.
