Hello all! Any confirmation if this is a corporate directive? Happening in your store? Or management trying to get a promotion?
Let’s confirm cuts to hours for FT employees and managers just communicated for August 2024 after Anniversary Sale.

Your FLS managers will likely ask u to pick up shifts at RS. It’s the only way to get more hours. You’re gonna finish their backlog or scan MD. RS is rough.

SW Region full line store, have only just heard (from the feedback board, not a manager) that our team will be getting reduced hours after Anniversary. My schedule will soon be just below 32 hrs/week.
$19/hr sounds nice, wish I made that much...
Doesn't look like Anniversary is going as well this year, or maybe that's just our store?

Check your STATE Guidelines on Unemployment?
IF Nordstrom as a company brings a FT employee(s) to >32 hours or LESS you can file for UNEMPLOYMENT for the remaining time lost?
I hope things get better…what is the criteria for the reduction in hours?

I cannot speak to that in our Store. But, I do see them refusing to hire people over $19.00 an hour. They would rather pull 20 year-olds off the street with NO experience then pay a seasoned salesperson with a clientele book. Go to Saks, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales if you are looking for a career. Nordstrom is one step away from being JCPenney on hiring.
