Manages check your merit and ICP

HR is at it again. I distributed my allotted budget for merit and ICP to my team. It was approved through my management team and without notice, someone from HR went in and knocked everyone down significantly. ICP was also dropped by thousands per person. So much for this record year… Are they trying to push the top performers out to save a dollar? Sure seems that way. Going to be a volatile year.

As a former manager, sometimes my senior manager would adjust my amounts because he had other managers to balance; then the director would adjust the senior managers' amounts because they had more to balance. It's a ladder thing. I doubt HR would do anything like that.

As for people complaining about no raises, check your compa-ratio. As you get above the mid-point, increases become smaller. Your manager or HR business partner shoud be able to tell you your compa-ratio.

Nice, did you ask yourself the question, WWGD?

15y+ with the company. Stock is on all time high, numbers are great, Mike Berry is selling RSUs for 3.8 million US$.
And what do we get from NetApp:
The statement that you are one of the key players in the team doing a very good job.To thank you for your commitment and your performance, there is no salary increase this year, no promotion and no new IC Level ( which was promised over the last FY multiple times) for you. But I have some RSUs for you in the far lower three-digit range.

Thank you very much GK. You know how to keep people happy and motivated.

I got raise and RSU. Same with others I know. If you got nothing they're probably trying to make you quit.

My mgr said Ireland only allowed 2% max raise. And that he took some of my ICP to give to the rest of the team.

No raise and no RSUs? Are you sure, some people are getting something.

Manager told me no raise; starting to look at the grass on the other side of the fence. 10 years and this was the final straw.

No raise, no RSUs (somewhat of a joke really) and no incentive to stay on. Signal is clear to move on so they can replace you with a lower cost center resource. Claim is they are paying way over industry average. People managers stacking bonuses for their faves, basically throwing some under the bus and ki-ling morale.

ICP has always been full of beans. You are supposed to get bonuses every year. The RSU component takes 2 years to vest. Just a bunch of crock.

Are you sure it was HR? The same happened to me but the "adjustment" was made by my Director at that time. Of course, at the Director level is their choice to adjust or perhaps they are told (by HR) to make adjustments - similar when it comes down to personnel.

Man what a joke! CEOs and higher ups boasting and flexing record profits and growth and give us nothing in return.

Did you allocate 100% or were you asked to hold back 5%?

The concept of objective merit based rewards is a very large crock o cr-p: it's all subjective BS.
