Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

No layoffs related to closing stores?

That’s what they claim. Somehow I don’t believe it.

The plan is to move people from closed stores to other "profitable" stores.

They'll offer a "similar role" at a store within like 30 miles and this could be inconvenient for a lot of people so they'll choose to quit. This way they aren't eligible for severance and possibly unemployment.

I wouldn't put it past Walgreens to use every trick possible to reduce their layoff costs.

I wonder how they'll handle severence. At the lower level, Walgreens tends too find ways to fire people in order to avoid paying severence.
