Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

Health insurance lapses in a week.

Received a email with the subject line “action required enroll in your health and insurance benefits”. Then, the first paragraph ends with The enrollment window is open now through June 29, 2024.

I called to find out when insurance lapses and was told insurance will lapse next Friday at midnight.

I quit a few months ago. It took Fidelity (the cobra manager) longer than expected to get my insurance processed. I was without health care for 1 month but it is retroactive, except you need to self pay for that month and then file paperwork. You will have the same policy id but you will need to get all your prior auths all over again since it will be a cobra version of the same policy with the same number but they make you jump through all the hoops.

Again, talk to a employment lawyer if you have any inclination your not getting a fair deal, there are laws that have to be followed, know your rights, NCR HR from Serbia isn’t going to be any help to you or your families.

Yay for COBRA at over a grand a month for an individual. Meanwhile, they discontinue health coverage during a holiday week. Good luck getting those last minute appointments for your life sustaining meds!

If you have medical coverage and you are let go or resign, you have to be offered COBRA coverage to offer you to continue your health benefits. It will be at a much higher cost per month but they can’t just stop coverage right away.

I suggest pressing HR on this question. My paperwork clearly states a "Separation Date" in August. And later words indicate insurance lasts until the end of month of your "separation date".

Yet I too have been told my insurance lapses "next week". I can't reconcile that.

Talk to an employment lawyer, make sure you are getting a fair deal, Canada required 90 days until healthcare was terminated, I opted to keep similar coverage with the same company, at a cost of $415 an month to cover the wife and I. If you have questions, get advise, expect nothing from ncr, they don’t care.

Call the net benefits line. The email they sent is really misleading.

they laid us off on the 27th and have withheld information on severance packages. No time to respond. if healthcare ends on Sunday, that su-ks.
i still have not heard anything from NCR regarding my alleged package. 20+ years and thrown out like the trash.

Were u laid off? For me i was given 2 weeks notice. last day of work was in middle of the month. But insurance was cancelled at end of month. Things my have changed tho
