Not sure the size and scale, but I've seen a handful of folks from the VCF BU side posting over the last 24 hours about them being let go and open to new opportunities.

It's hard to sell even one SKU when you don't have a functioning sales process.
VCF won't be shutdown. It will just be bare bones until they acquire their next company. THis is the Hock way.

Lots of VCF gone this week and while there is a bunch of fat, the the wide swath of the kn--e also cut away a number of excellent people who will have no problem landing elsewhere. Meanwhile, all the leadership in this BG who are so far over their heads it's immeasurable, and who created this s-show, remain in place to continue their failures.
This wave will be the first of many until/unless they fix the problem(s) at the top.
VMware was superb company for employees and horrible for shareholders. Broadcom is the opposite. As a result of the above, VMware is now bloated with huge number of senior members both managers and ICs, huge cut is needed so that we reach Broadcom numbers.. wish you all the best, my last day is in November. Private equity destroyed entire industries like Hospitals in several metros. Eldercare industry got destroed. Destroying a company is nothing new. We have seen this picture many times.
Loaded up Broadcom up to the gills with debt. Buyback shares at the top and not pay back debt. Insiders selling while the corporation is buying back stocks.
Inflation is not coming down. The interest on this debt is not going down. The debt will double every 5 years at this rates.
May be Hock did a good job with a simple service like CA or Symantec. But he is over his skies here with VMware. VMware elites have honed their bull sh-----g skills while under EMC and Dell for decades.
It appears that Hock is going through some elder abuse now. Hard to watch. This is not going to end well for Hock or anyone.

VMware will be gone in 2-3 years, max 10% of the current employees will be kept for additional 3-4 years to keep the lights on.
VMware will be sold to KKR. Just like Omnissa. Broadcom moved a lot of money from its shareholders to Dell and SilverLake. Big writeoff for Broadcom and everyone will be fired in VMware and 10% will be kept to milk this bull.
