Thread regarding PayPal layoffs

The only career path here is to be laid off

I was not laid off in this latest round, but I’m not waiting for the next one. Constant anxiety over losing a job, peaking during mass layoffs, is ki-ling me. Since there is no point staying here, because there is no reward, promotion or any kind of progression, I may as well change the company for a better pay, or better benefits, better anything. If I worry, at least it will be for better money.

Of course not - amazes me how people think they get to keep those

What is the package you get if laid off? do we get to keep our unvested RSUs?

Just relax, do bare minimum until the inevitable. No point moving company if you’re certain you’ll be laid off. May as well reap the reward of the package

Why would you look forward to 2025? Pretty fair chance of you and most being off shored or replaced by AI. Especially if you are young since multiple fortune 500 companies keep putting in comments in Business Insider and other articles stating how much they hate working with young people.

People are overstating things. I’m still here and so are my friends. Everything is going great and I also love that there’s some downtime for me to paint my nails and do my makeup in the office. If you’re looking for promotion and reward, then become friends with people higher up. If you don’t know who your higher ups are, look on thehub. Also keep track of your work on sharepoint or on the onedrive so you can put that on the self end year performance review and talk to your manager often so she can put a good word for you.

If you are young and recently graduated from college like me, its not difficult to switch roles or find a new job elsewhere. I’m looking forward to 2025. It’ll be a great year.
