What steps will you take to protect from identity theft / fraud?

Lock your credit with all three credit agencies to prevent someone opening anything with your ssn. Go to each company website to set up I did this years ago after a coworker’s identity was stolen and it works. I forgot to unlock when I went to buy a car when the dealership tried to run my credit and entered my ssn it showed I didn’t exist. I had to temp unlock so they could open my loan. Experion, equifax and transunion. Otherwise it is a full time job to fix your credit and prove it cost my friend $15,000 in lawyer fees to fix and that was 15 years ago. Lock your credit!!!!!
I bet a whole lot of PII was exfiltrated.
If you did anything with a CDK-using car dealership in the past 5-7 years, you better keep an eye out on your credit reports, because you know that information got out and is for sale on the dark web.
