Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Jump ship

Speaking from someone who left in November. It flat out took MONTHS to recover wellbeing wise what a toxic and sh---y company like Walgreens takes from you…everything! I root for all of you to find better positions with orgs and managers that actually advocate for you. End of the day folks your life, mental and physical health are priority #1. Take care of yourselves!

Yes, i have to agree with you. I felt so stress working at Walgreens than any retail. Bad investment and bad calls mess the beauty department up. I left when i got the chance. I am at peace and away from the craziness. This use to be a good company to work for but went down hill.

I was corporate and at 27 years old I literally had to get a stress test because I thought the stress had caused long term damage. I was in shambles for months even in a new job but haven’t gone to therapy although I probably should. The place was so toxic I would just laugh in the end cause everyday was more bad news. Fu-k Walgreens to the bottom

@OP+1tePYvQV What was your recovery process like? Did you realize you had some sort of PTSD stuff and how did it work itself out over time? Thank you.

The worst part is this almost had to be intentional😞

I have finally saw some opportunities opening in my area. I have been seeing this coming for a long time and instead of waiting around until it is too late I am proactively trying to get out when I have options and not having to take a position when I have no options. I am truly tired of this 💩 show.

Can't disagree with your post. Walgreens has crapped on its employees for years (starting with Wasson) and although Tim Wentworth seems earnest in his efforts to turn the company around, it will be difficult given current morale. Everyone has their reasons for sticking it out but those with options aren't going to stay and see if its their store that's closing and possibly wait years for improvement. It's not that they'd be giving up much by leaving anyway. Walgreens offers little more than a meager paycheck and a lot of stress. If you think working for Walgreens is bad now, it'll probably get worse before it gets better.
