Pretty clear there will continue to be reductions in headcount and fewer opportunities for advancement even for HiPos. As headcount shrinks in HC10 countries there will be less need for management in HC10 countries. The few spots that will remain can be filled by external hires or bringing BTC engineers over as expats. Trials of this plan are already being done openly and even promoted
Through social media videos and posts. Short of coming out and saying it they couldn’t be much clearer on what they are planning to do. Best to figure out what timing you want to leave and then make a plan to do so.

I am sure BTC employees are relying heavily on Gen AI tools to get their work done.
@OP+1tc3up1G, nothing new here. This is ExxonMobil's tried and tested strategy. Canada, KL, Curitiba, BA, and now BTC. During each iteration US employees' jobs went to these low cost locations. So if you won't wake up now you can't blame anyone but yourself. The mgmt. will simply say, "you should have seen writing on the wall."
The work isn’t rocket science that it needs employees with such high salaries. Most technologies are old and there is no need for anymore innovation in a dying industry. The industry can ride into the sunset using cheap labor.
Exxon hates their employees. Ever since covid, they have shown 0 appreciation to their workers.
