I just heard that bp has hired 2 new refinery managers at our US refineries. Both of them are from outside of bp. I can’t believe we don’t have qualified people here to step into those roles. We need to hire outside people at the SVP-level and up - not operational roles. What is going on with this company??? No opportunity to get promoted, and pay increases are wayyyyy below inflation. Employees are fed up and ready to leave as soon as our “reinvent” shares vest next year.

bp is an integrated company with 6 refineries. If we have not developed anyone who can be promoted to refinery manager, then we are doing something wrong. We literally have no formal leadership training. Seriously, all training is “experiential” and on-the-job. Then the ELT says they don’t have qualified candidates. This is why good people are leaving for better companies.
BP is not a refining company. Not surprising to me for them to want to hire outside talent. When you divest so many of your assets this is what happens lmao
Then they’ll fit in at bp
The new whiting one is from exxon who was known to prey on young engineers
CSB issued the final investigation report on the Toledo Refinery. Coincidence that the S&ORA VP announce retirement and Whiting Refinery Manager got promoted into that role, and bringing in outside refinery managers.

Lol … sounds like someone is jealous. If you deserved the job, you would have it
Why wait? Your Reinvent Shares aren’t going to be worth much
