System Indicators You Are Impacted

To anyone that’s been LRed - did you notice anything in Workday, software on laptop, payroll, etc prior to receiving the LR notification?

I copied my “personal” folder to a local drive (a couple of times) just to see if anyone calls me on it. It’s just things like Certificates for Mindtickle cr-p, receipts I needed for Concur, etc. I’m the guy you don’t let anywhere near a big red button that says, “Don’t Push!”

This is complete bullsh-t. I am sure they don't have the man power to go through all the files and things we do on our laptops.

Foolish if you believe that. There have been court cases where Cisco produced this sort of data in evidence. They have an extremely good picture of every bit of data you attempt to move around. If the system flags you as copying material, then expect an ugly encounter.

I think black crows gather outside your residence the evening before notification.

You may start to notice your computer running slower than usual. That's due to the monitoring software installed quietly. Make no mistake, everything is being monitored including files being moved, etc. If anything is flagged as suspicious a rigorous investigation will come, and it's like going through a rough IRS audit.

We still need to hear from someone who experienced these

Is there specific software to look for on your laptop that wouldn’t be there otherwise?

“ triggering a call from PSIRT”
I think you meant CSIRT. PSIRT does product security, CSIRT does computer security and incident response & investigation for company assets.

Whatever you do, be very very careful about copying or moving any files on your work device. Someone in the WTO WebEx chat (it's a chat for folks impacted that support one another) said they went to move a few personal files out of a folder and accidentally copied the whole folder, triggering a call from PSIRT and a whole investigation. Extremely messy and scary.

Cisco has an army of people just there to help make progress with LR - monitoring every activity of targeted employees, installed tracking software, monitoring web activities and blocking access to servers. This is excessive waste of Cisco money that could be used better, only if Cisco think it’s precious employees and family members are NOT thief, and have high standards. It’s ridiculous to get treated like an outsider, on your way out. Sad but true 😢

If your manager schedules a random 1on1 meeting with you, it's time.

A fellow team member was LRed in February and there were no signs. At 8:30am their manager scheduled an 8:45am meeting, which was used to deliver the news. This is before "working hours" and the team member only happened to see it by chance.

The Monday before I was notified they installed the tracker software. My PC acted weird and rebooted on its own and was slow. Also a day or so before that my manager rescheduled our standing 1 on 1 and lied about the reason.

Seems like every week a new "monitoring software" is being notified on my mac. Guess I'll confirm/deny in the next few weeks.

I can confirm the linkedin clue as well.
You will also notice changes in the authentication patterns with Duo.

I was LR’d several years ago.
I noticed 2-3 days prior that Cisco HR zombies were creeping me on LinkedIn.

My Mac rebooted suddenly one week before my LR - I guess they installed the document monitor software.
