I was almost outstanding but the people I was ranked against didn’t have the opportunity for the same volume of work, so my volume of work was discounted to level the playing field.

A manager resigned. Their group was a total sh-t show. I stepped in and had to act quickly to right the ship. There wasn’t time for endless alignment meetings. Decisions needed to be made. I. The end it took months but I got the group back on track. Then feedback time came. No criticism of my decision and results. A lot of criticism that I didn’t collaborate enough. What a bunch of BS. Last time I go out of my way to save the day and prevent production from stopping. Next time they can sort the sh-t show out themselves.

@vni So your boss told you do something and you refused. Then you were terminated. Got it.

I thought all you REs had a hard-on for this “you’re fired” stuff. Guess it’s not so fun when it happens to you though.

Good luck finding a job that pays you as much to do as little. For what most REs are getting paid I would have done a presentation on basket weaving if I was told to.

Slowing down when implementing change and making sure I understand all the issues and communicate it with all the stakeholders.

This was such BS. I came into a new group and the manager gave me this project and said she was tired of it being stalled and wants something tangible. So that’s what I did, I made it tangible. There were disagreements and redos but at least we had something to go off of instead of our imaginations. It’s finished and implemented now. Some people aren’t happy but they never were going to be with this process change.

So upsetting because the low ranking I think will slow down my jump to the 28-29 group and lower my potential.

These are the real reasons.
being too old, not a hipo or protected, not liked, not pretty enough or popular enough, pay is too high, too many years at exxon, too weird for exxon (this is a stretch because of all the dysfunctional at exxon), not fitting in with the backstabbing culture and refusal to drink the poison coolaid, openly challenging the management and telling the truth, and finally fitting the demographic need for piping. It goes many ways for the demographic pips because no one is safe old young, minority or white, male or female citizen or non citizen. I have seen them all piped.

Reason I did not do a presentation and training for my team. I was asked to do a presentation about a subject I did not know about. I told the supervisor to let the resident expert do the presentation. I said I could present on my specialty but was told no. They only asked once. This was the trap and test. They had me cut and dry. Hard evidence to pip me. Now I am weighing my options pil, retire , or pil.
I was assured I could pass the pip if I worked hard enough. If they told me I was piped because i did not do the presentation I might have done it but they probably would have used something else to pip me. I am older and well paid so my time is near.

Reason someone outside my group said I was difficult to work with and I said something they did not like. I asked who this was and the incident and was told it was confidential. Only that it was mentioned and recordered by another supervisor. I asked to defend myself and see the evidence but was denied. I went to HR big mistake, and they looked into it. In the end I think they will say it is confidential. I don't care if they sweep it under the rug I am still going to make a stink. I have sent several emails to the managers and recieved the usual we care about fairness and the treatment of employees. Total bs. To my defense I have been helpful and nice to everyone I work around. I think some people do mot like me because I know more than them and help out. Sick place and people.

reason not enough delegation even though I have no one to delegate to.
I was told to go out and find someone to delegate to.
I asked the supervisor to help and was told I needed to reach out to other groups for collaborative opportunities.
The ranking system is fixed and rigged not for the workers benefit.
I must add that I have added several innovative solutions to EMTEC. I was told that is easy and expected of me to innovate and I need to work on leadership skills. I was also told to work on right sized communication skills. Others in my group relied on my technical knowledge and I gladly assisted them. This was not used for my ranking they only used the stuff they could drop me with. It is most unfair.
