Is it done?

It was age discrimination and good people got let go. Don't fool yourself that bending over for the company by doing extra projects is gonna keep you safe it will not. They value no one but themselves and it’s a shame.
Just food for thought. The big round of layoffs in 2023 were in August, followed by an additional smaller/quieter set of layoffs in late October.
Agreed. Everyone reading this should work like there will be an annual layoff. If you want to volunteer for a project as a way to boost your resume, by all means go for it. If you do happen to be laid off it may help you land your next role.
What you should not do is ever give a company more loyalty than is required to do your job effectively. The company will reciprocate that loyalty only as long as your position puts good money in their pocket. Also, keep your eye open about other local jobs, even if you don't make the jump.
Call the hotline. I’m sure they’ll properly handle your claim.
I’ve been wondering if age discrimination had anything to do with some layoffs in my group.
Totally guilty of age discrimination as a company!
Some Naveen Hater lol ,
The cut line is just getting closer to your position.
Considering the company’s track record, more rounds are likely, with at least one or two per year. If you believe your position is secure, it’s best to remain in it. Volunteering for another project could result in your new role being eliminated or downgraded.
