We're looking at weeks if not months of stressing as we wait to find out where and when layoffs are going to hit. Considering that it's 4k people, it's hard to imagine that many will be lucky to see their areas unaffected. I thought major tech layoffs were behind us, but I guess I was wrong.

No way it’s only 4000. But this is the sort of thing the ELT leaks to prepare the street.
So hope they pick me so I can get out of this sh-t and retire early. This company is seriously fu---d up.

Dell & Intel just announced much larger layoffs than 4K. And they're more honest by calling them a layoff instead of a "limited" restructuring.
I have never understood the rationale behind calling it a "limited restructuring" when we do it ALL THE TIME. It makes our leadership look like they don't know what they're doing since they have to restructure over and over. You'd think they'd want to cover that up and make themselves look better, not worse.
I was laid off in February 2024, and seeing such news makes me happy to be out of that insanity. If you are a boot li---r don‘t worry - if you spoke up the last months about anything, go and get your CV updated.
