Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

What’s the verdict on RTO mileage?

Still anywhere between 30 and 50 miles? Or have we established the specifics? Jesus, what a stupid thing to have to be bothered with. I am at 32 miles, and still have no idea. I guess I’ll have to (again) sort this out with my manager, who also seems to be clueless. How difficult it must be to establish a simple set of rules for something so simple as RTO?

They don't care about the employees. PERIOD. I am not going to work in an office where don't collaborate with anyone. I know of dozens of new hires that were supposed to work in NC offices but they stealthily moved back to wherever the came from during the pandemic and they're now telecommuters. If this is OK it's OK for me to refuse to return to the office, never mind I haven't worked in the office since 2015. F' em. I hope they RIF me for it.

On another note is anyone getting 2 weeks severance if they get RIF'ed or is everyone given the offer to work for Accenture or no severance?

I’m at 35 miles and I was never given a choice to be remote or not. I’m required to be in the office 4 days a week.

Agree with the last couple posts. If Truist really values us being in the office, they’d show it.

I don’t blame anyone for trying to go remote, if they’re getting paid the same but not having to commute it’s just the smart rational move.

Hoping they look at where people are in their salary range as well versus just everyone getting the same % increase to determine comp.

Im the only office centric person on my team after everyone moved outside the radius or started using their beach/mountain house address. I got the same % last year as my teammates that live in cheap areas and don’t spend time and money on commuting anymore.

Not that it will help, but I did put in the survey that they should consider this in Annual compensation review (range penetration) to at least TRY to ensure we are paid fairly for our location and commuting costs.

I sure hope they factor in gas, maintenance, time, etc. when bonuses and salary increases are determined. These are expenses that a WFH associate doesn't have to pay.

Manager working in Technology, received the same guidance that it's 35 miles to any of the "core" ET offices. For my Teammates, I used their home address to determine mileage. It's a BS policy and whether it works for me or not, I'm pushing for remote where I think it makes sense. If it matters that much, I guess my wonderful senior leaders will reach out. I'm tired of trying to represent nonsense that only hurts my team.

Policy update: If you moved to the beach or rural areas you are rewarded with unlimited WFH. Those that stayed near an office are inflicted with max pain RTO 4 days a week.

Clown organization.

35 Miles from address or zip code? I've heard two different responses

The guidance sent to Technology was 35 miles.

Is this mileage limit published anywhere? I still cannot imagine this is what determines Office or Remote.

So you telling me if I live 20 miles and then decide to move 16 miles away I can be remote?

It is now 35 miles one way and it is not to your physical address, it is to wherever it drops the pin for your zip code. So it could benefit you or not.
