This doesn't make sense so there must be more

Taking away the drama for a second, the new structure doesnt make immediate sense. But, there would have been many very smart people on this so they must know that and did it for a reason.

We have teams that were all in a good and functioning vertical now reporting all over the geo. Managers above those teams also with reports all over the geo. Segments that share common values, contracts and missions now split into several locations and tiers.

In that change people have adapted with virtual groupings. Customer work cant stop. This is a reflection of the good people+managers that are here.

Its first week in so there will be more as this falls into place. There will be a reason behind this beyond tier one. We have a lot of dedicated people putting faith in a great outcome. Lets see what is next, times like this is when you see the best of people and the not so best.

Thanks. The spans and layers thing had disaster written all over it. So many orgs have zero reason to get that broad, it doesn't shock me, the idea that people were just getting thrown onto teams to hit headcount quotas. What a mess.

The fired my manager and put me under new people that literally have no idea what I do. I have to explain the basic functions of my job to them and they don't really get it.

Not exactly the strongest feeling of security here.

Multiple huge departments from ISG and Ssles have been reorged under IT, bigwigs and all. I think it’s just people helping out their buddies with rescues. Doesn’t make any logical sense.

I agree. Im in field sales and lost the state I live in for someone else to take it from another state. I now cover 5 states I don’t even live close to and not the state I live in. I thought they were wanting people to live in region to visit customers? It’s like they just threw a dart at a map and decided my territory. I do not see this as a permanent solution. But after everything I’m done caring anymore.

This seems to be the first of the changes. Re org the teams clear out management to flatten the orgs. Next I would bet it will be more sales cuts to the field. I have not seen any ICs I work with let go just shuffled around. There are only so many chairs so when the music stops Godspeed everyone
