Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

WTF has the Strategy office been doing

Well, so much for hiring the top strategy folks for the big 4….

We should have known better after using BCG before ; but the second you hire McKinsey you know exactly where it’s headed …

This is sadly accurate

Consultants are like politicians. Once a politician get's elected, their top priority, job one is... to get re-elected. Similarly with consultants, their primary job is to keep the gravy train... ooops, I mean contract going (plus, get rave reviews so other companies will hire them). They do this by doing anything whatever the person who signs their paycheck says. This time, they (consultants) are just an excuse Intel mgmt can point to saying... "see, this is what the consultants benchmark!" However, in reality, the consultants just goes around parroting and cherry picks data to support what Management wants to do.

When a company brings in McKinsey. It’s a wrap. They are the most successful con artists of all time. They literally do the same thing from the same playbook everytime. Why even hire them. You know exactly what their suggestions and plan will be.

Consultants are smart people who copy other smart people who did it first. In tech tht doesn't work, because that puts you years behind. In some other industries it's not so bad.
