Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

All oil/gas Refineries do $$ financially well $$ during Wars, silly to layoff now.

Maybe P66 does not see a WAR coming......zzzzzz. Better wake up.

People keep blaming AI but they are just outsourcing IT positions likely over seas. Not much has to do with AI…

AI is sadly rolling any office administration jobs out the door. But AI cannot replace physical plant jobs. Better consider retraining before all the good plant jobs disappear.

In war times the wages may double for refinery workers just to keep them. So, it makes sense to layoff today those in positions like work from home(wfh), those sitting around on the computer for 8 hours as those jobs are easily replaced by AI. Keeps dividends paying out the same with no loss due to double war wages.

Problem is during wartimes nobody wants to work at refineries after seeing overseas news pictures of refineries so they would be wise not to layoff anybody yet.
