Mental health and work life balance is nil here. Managers micromanaging employees and judging them.

With an abusive boss and toxic culture, it's no wonder the place is nearly catching on fire. Who wants to stay indoors for three months a year with the worst air quality in the country coupled by the worst people?

The fact that Intel, a company famous for toxic politics has higher Glassdoor rating than Micron should tell a pretty good story.

I've seen a lot of comments about leaving Micron and it was the best decision for them, I didn't believe it until I did that myself few months back. This was without any job offer on hand too!

And boy, Micron's culture su-ks! Everyone is so unfriendly with everyone and there's always an underlying judging tone when you talk to someone. I've since joined another company and it is night and day. Or maybe I've been abused by Micron's culture for too long...

The way I stopped a micromanaging boss was I reversed the role and became a micro subordinate. Every task my boss gave me, I would walk back to his office every 10 to 15 minutes to give him an update regardless of how trivial the update was. After a couple hours of me interrupting him, he told me that I didn't need to update him as frequently. I then changed the time frame for my updates to every 30 minutes. This still frustrated him so he told me that I was still updating him too frequently. I then updated him every hour. The hour time frame ended up concluding my day.

Day two: I continued updating every hour until about lunchtime when he finally said to me that I only needed to update him a few times during the duration of project and when it was completed. With him setting the ground rules for the frequency, he got the hint that he didn't need to micromanage me.

Micron’s toxic workplace is why employees self medicate with alcohol or need actual medication to survive.

Have you given much thought about seeking employment elsewhere which will enable positive mental health and work life balance?

No one is forcing you to work there and you are free to seek a better work environment.

Untouchable managers eating the big wedge and leaving only crumbs to employees? Did you mean that? In Micron managers are like sacred indian cows... no pun intended really!
