Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Ofc best people will take VSP and run

Everybody in their right mind who is competent, skilled and employable is going to leave. After they did everything in their power to convince everybody Intel is not a company worth working for, nobody worth having will stay. Not to mention that there’s no strategy beyond headcount reduction. If there was a strategy in general, they would be strategic about layoffs, which they’re obviously not.

For some intending to retire soon (5 years?), would let the storm pass by and hang in there and not care about the company’s future.

A lot of people will stick around through there job search. VSP benefits won't last long enough to get a new job. Finding a job in a few weeks is bigfoot rare. 3-6 months in this market is lucky. Most people will take longer. Some people will just hang on for the whole ride down too.

How much more evidence do employees need to see before realizing that Intel is done?

Leave now.
Yes the market is bad, but markets turn around and you can up-level when it does.
I don’t see Intel surviving this tailspin.
