Re-badging to HCL soon - benefits question

I'm a US-based employee who "gets" to re-badge to HCL Tech soon. Been reading all of the comments and they're not hopeful. Any insight into US worker benefits once we move over?

Ideally, you will want to start looking for a new job and make sure that the benefits don't apply to you for longer than necessary. It's not a great place to work, and they will probably kick you to the can as soon as they fulfill whatever arrangement they've made with your current/old employer for retention.

Make sure you get your HR or HCL sponser contact info and keep all the documentation you were given. If you have a microsite for the transition download everything possible to use as your own repository. There have been several payroll issues so I review every check and escalate the errors I find. I have not experienced micro management but agree that the benefits are not comparable to what I had before and alot of employee process/procedures are not clear and/or documented. HCL operates in silos, each company's rebadged employees are treated differently which I think causes further confusion amongst themselves (HCL leadership and HR). I could go on and on but the last thing I will say is for a technology company their internal systems are lacking.... but a job is better than no job.

If you have any alternative options whatsoever do yourself a favor and run away.

The micromanagement in this company is greater than anything I have ever witnessed or experienced in my life. It’s not just the daily questioning, it’s the paperwork and the actual mandatory recording your work as you work. It’s stressful. Good luck.

I am another HCL rebadge from another American company; we have been with them for a little over a year now. My insurance is worse but not god awful, still manageable. The worst part of the rebadge is dealing with micromanagers, unclear PTO policies, review processes, and much, much more.

I’m also a rebadger from an American company. HCL has horrible insurance coverage and horrible dental. It is chaos and you will be micromanaged. You will be given additional work that is high priority on top of your daily work and then questioned where you are on all of it. It’s just nuts. Very stressful. No wage increases on top of everything else. I could go on and on. One word of advise. RUN.

Can confirm some of the prescriptions previously approved are denied under the hcl plan or require a much higher copay. You can often sign up for a pharmaceutical company program (not income based) to offset a lot of that, fyi.
Good luck!

That's the vibe I'm getting. Not looking forward to this, based on Internet gossip.

HCL Tech benefits are horrible when compared to our prior benefits at Verizon before the rebadge. Medical and prescription coverages regularly denied even though in network. Dental capped at $1500 a year. Eyeglasses cost me over $500. Very sad. We are approaching our 1 year mark of being rebadged and now they will likely lay us off soon. HCL is a really unorganized and confused company.
