Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Mid-years reviews?

I don't recall doing mid-year reviews in STS in the past. Am I forgetting? Why the intense focus now? Is this only my team?

Mid year reviews aren’t new. What might be new is your business units’ enforcement to people managers to actually do them.

We have it. We are also required to do IDP. Just more work for us employees. I heard about it last year as well but it was not reinforced.

Been here a long time and the whole IDP thing is a joke. I'm in I & O and they really press you to keep one up. I've been pretty honest with my manager about my personal plan. I told him my plan is an escape plan.

oh they are looking for evals to aid in their layoff strategy - didn't have time before because they didn't really want to recognize those doing the work for TDA - now it is a different story

Normal but skipped due to Covid and TDA. Quarterlies too, but those haven't been for a long time.

As with all manager interactions, document everything, manage paperwork and your manager. This means record conversations, emails and messages. Maintain a quiet posture of preparing for legal action. It isn't fun, but it can make the difference between a sudden change in employment with no compensation or having options.
