Just another example of why you shouldn’t believe everything that gets posted on this site. It’s 5:15 and no communication.

If actually true, the email from HR will come out before 4:30pm EST - my guess this is just an unfounded rumor

Pension will be around another couple of years. Board wouldn’t allow 200 plus million for golf tournament and ki-ling pension at the same time.

Would imagine if it is true and announced today, it will be at close of business…they want us to be fully engaged today

Well, today is the day. So the truth of this will be revealed. For me, if the pension is frozen I'll be free to seek employment elsewhere. Pension is the only thing keeping me here.

Usually, I take predictions on this site with a grain of salt. However, this one was oddly specific about when it would occur. So, I am mildly curious on if this event actually occurs today......

"EL has made some really bad moves but I don’t think they are d-mb enough to cut or freeze the pension."

Somewhere in Charlotte, Bill Rogers just said "hold my beer..."

Pension is not going away nor is it being frozen. EL has made some really bad moves but I don’t think they are d-mb enough to cut or freeze the pension.

Timing makes sense. December 7th is 5 years since legal day 1. That means everyone hired since LD1 at Truist and everyone hired at STI after they cut their pension would become fully vested on 12/7.

BillyBob can't let that happen, he couldn't buy another two vacation homes if he did.

I tend to not believe this as they just recently cut the benefit for new teammates hired 1/1/24. I doubt they do that and then make this change that close to each other.

Having said this as someone with a few decades left I do not believe the Pension will be there as it is today for when I retire.

So I believe it will be gone at some point, but skeptical that time is now.

Pension will be frozen. Email from HR BENEFITS will be sent to teammates on Thursday. Similar email as when 401k contribution reduced from 6% to 4%
