If you know somebody who is affected, can you please share their age? I'd like to know if older employees are once again being targeted or not.

@OP 57 yes targeted my coworker 60.
I was 70 years old and was at Dell for 28 years. I worked on projects in service that resulted in auto-heal storage devices that saved millions. I also worked other projects that saved much more than my salary.
Dell managers are given a headcount budget target to meet when layoffs are planned. Older workers tend to be much more experienced and therefore, have higher total compensation - removing these employees makes it easier to reach the target number.
60 and 59
Dell has average age of employees around 50, It is expected to layoff folks around that age group. In my team of 14 at Dell the average age is 58. We are all senior and experienced team members. We aren't Meta where the average age is 35.
To all of those who elected to remain remote versus doing the simple task of coming into the office, congratulations, you are getting let go.
Dell is VERY careful to ensure that the ages of those riffed are spread out evenly across the board. Ageism isn’t a part of this on paper and if you’re of a certain age and let go, you receive the list of everyone let go in your department (no names) with their ages. Dell is very well versed in their many, MANY WFR’s.

Dell disappointed and will disappoint even more its shareholders, and now is disappointing its employees. What a disgusting and disgraceful company
A survey here isn't going to give you that information.

Lots of replies in their 50’ and 60’s. This is absolutely awful! I am so sorry to those laid off and your families.
I’ll never purchase a Dell product again.
