Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Wow. Worse than we thought

So the results are almost all negative quarter to quarter and 2023 to 2024. Ten percent of the remaining survivors to be laid off.

What company in their right mind would buy anything from Teradud?

It’s going to be a brutal Q3.

It’s a doom spiral now, so they’ll focus on leeching off of existing customers. Software dev will transition to maintenance mode (and most of it outside the U.S.) where they add features that only big customers want. Sales will be focused on use cases for existing customers. Marketing will be about putting lipstick on the pig for existing customers. Everything will be geared toward circling the wagons and fending off poachers from the outside.

Down almost 15% this morning - what a hot-mess / dumpster fire. No way anyone at Director and above should be keeping their cush jobs at the expense of employees. And yet, the smug smiles say it all - how inept, unqualified, and over-their-head they really are.

Sad to see a once-great company completely run into the ground for personal greed/gain and inability to execute.

Big decline in revenue proves that more and more customers are getting off and going elsewhere. Bo-m times in the market and these guys are decreasing revenue by millions

That’s the problem. There shouldn’t be anything but bone.

To what extent might Engineering be impacted? At some point, ELT will be forced to cut into bone.
