Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Every man for himself

I wish there was somebody at Cisco management who cared about the company beyond numbers that would make them look good. Sadly, there hasn't been anybody who was looking at the big picture for a while now - and you can tell by the state of things. I used to love my job. Now I hate working here. It's a sad situation all around.

All of the organizational and thought leadership that actually cared about the long-term success of Cisco left at least a decade ago. The truly sad thing is that this company had the talent it needed to have a very successful future.

In a toxic and corrupted Cisco culture most managers are incompetent and work for their paycheck not for the company. Anyone who cares about the company and speaks the truth gets alienated and then eliminated. There is no hope for Cisco. It is too late.

It is not hard to move a frame/packet from one interface with an IP/MAC lookup, to another interface with security, in merchant silicon at very high packet rates. Anyone who thinks otherwise is inventing customer problems that don’t exist. Cisco got fat and rich on having mega sales people who can position and oversell. But customer base now wised up that Cisco is full of sh-t and is lead by conman CR. Friends, Cisco is fu---d. If you think differently you are detached from technical reality. 99% of what Cisco do is possible with solutions at 50% of cost. TAC which was one time differentiator is a shadow and been stripped. Excellent tech staff not going to work under this sh-t.

Cisco was once a great company. Now they only worry about the stock price and making the ELT rich and famous.

Everyone hates the company now. The company doesn’t care about employees. Anyone in the US or similar economy is told over and over that they are too expensive. That they provide no value but at the same time they can’t understand why the customers leave.

At this point the strategy is grind the company into the ground and take anything you can. Customers don’t deserve working solutions or good customer service. Employees are worthless.
