Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Michael Dell is greedy = WFR/RIF

They laid me off today, 15 years in from EMC. Dell is now keeping all of my $200k in options, and giving a very tiny severance package. 1 days notice. Not enough to get a new job.

What a waste of a decade…

Michael Dell and Jeff Clarke you are both Greedy! Shame on you. I am not proud to call you my companies founder nor leader.

Heartless as Dell high rev. asked to rebuild the company with the people, don’t cut 25k more people!

I was told this train is not gonna stop for several years. Who wants to stay working at Dell if that’s all you’re gonna do? Can’t make more money? Just trim your opex versus actually innovate and be a tech company again.

Dell has done nothing but gut EMC and it’s acquisitions like vmw and others.

Dell is removing the life out of what little technology we have left.

Turning into an opex driven shareholder public company discussion we are all just numbers, not real people. Make billionaires out of you, we do.

Morale is at an all time low. I hate working here. I should have left the min they bought emc. But we were all fooled by Michael Dell. Several employees ki-led them selves from job losses in the Austin round rock office last year. They were swept under the rug.

High performers and high option holders are out. More greed stealing from your prized employees.

That is not a tech company…

The unvested options bit me when it happened to me, so understand the frustration. Wish good fortune as you seek what's next in your career. As for Dell, at their core they've been a OPEX driven company from their earliest days.

Why would have anyone thought it would be better when Dell bought EMC? I left EMC in 2014, saw the writing on the wall. EMC management wasn't interested in keeping EMC independent, and they knew that being HQ in MASS was going to be a loser for innovation over time, so they sold for the "biggest" in history. MD then used the pieces as parts to execute his financial engineering. Good for him, he had the power.

I tend to agree, they shouldn’t be able to float RSUs to retain you and then lay you off and not have to pay those out after you passed on other opportunities
