Thread regarding Amazon.com layoffs

Another round of layoffs is coming

After reporting bad results, with a bad outlook, and chaos on Friday, they announced another 15 000 layoffs. Do we know who’s going to pay the price the most?

Well, 15000 employees is a small amount for Amazon. They simply hired too many incompetent employees and still have lots of fat to trim. Look at Alexa, Echo, and their other gimmicky, slow booting devices ($25+ billion lost - enough to open a few huge data centers). Look at Ads with their portal crash on Prime Day, which is not what you'd expect for a 'highly resilient' cloud provider. Then they'll increase Prime subscription by $10/year. Brilliant!

Whole Foods employee here. What does it mean for Whole Foods? Stores shuttering? More cuts at Whole Foods?

The S-Team. Hiring freezes, silent/forced layoffs, normal layoffs, comp freezes, office closures, oh my! The usual "strategies".
