Don't work at 3M if you care about your career

Just a friendly warning to anybody who might be considering joining.

Do not work at 3M if you care about your physical and mental health.

I wish someone had warned me about 3M before I joined.

Not every job can be done remotely. Mine can.

Just because not everyone can work remotely doesn't mean things are unfair. Not every job can be done while sitting; should we all stand to make things fair? Should we all work shifts because some people can't do their job during the day? Handle chemicals because not everyone can do their job on a computer? Speak Spanish because not everyone gets to work primarily in their mother tongue?

Where does it end? Stop whining.

This person probably see unfairness as he or she is not able to enjoy WFH. Hence the comments.

I see some guy here always trying to attack WFH. It looks like a guy who hate his wife wanted come back to office but there are no gals to hang around?

Enjoyed the rerun of TPIR Mothers Day edition today. All paid for on company time. The LTI being stripped from long-time loyal employees who helped make this company billions will be recouped bit by bit by quiet quitting of thousands of employees.

What goes around comes around. I doubt Brown cares anyway since he's here to saw off pieces until there is nothing left to cut. Which business group is divested next? Safety?

The good news is all of the JG16 and up are too busy trying to look good to the new bosses to notice or even care about the quiet quitting.

The divide is growing. Those in the comfy work from home roles, making $100k plus have experienced their demands and job experience become much more pleasant. Those working in the plants are seeing ever increasing demands placed on them while they must show up each day.

We just went through a massive restructuring, and our new leader is now saying much more of that coming.

One step forward and two steps back seems to be the norm now. It is no longer a place that I would recommend anybody to work at.

I am very glad that company had given up its office space in headquarters. Which meant the regional role like ours are primarily remote. This works well for me as I need to take care of my elderly and allows me to run my chores while turning on the MS teams call. Best part is I can take frequent naps too. It's truly a job made in heaven.

I agree with @kgn.

I'm JG15, slacking my way through the day, enjoying a nice paycheck for minimal effort.

I'm pi---d about the LTI changes, which is great because now I don't feel bad about half-assing my job.

Only problem is that my bosses are high up enough that they still care, so sometimes I still need to impress.

If you are working in 3M but don't mind a career, it's a good place to quiet quit. The directors and above will be fighting hard for their LTI and AIP.

I actually don't mind staying in 3M as I love the WFH arrangement. Nothing beats earning 150k while running my errands during work hours. It's liberating.
