Is it the same/better/worse than CVS? I got an offer, but I don't want to go into a worse situation than we have here.

If your full time, you have guaranteed hours. If you are part time, in any kind of retail your hours could get cut any time without notice.
The best place for this kind of advice is the layoff Walmart board. There you can get some insight. Alternatively seek out Walmart employees on LinkedIn. Good luck with your search.
