Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Returning equipment

Anybody laid off or termed: I only received a box to return my laptop and postcard to return my modem/router to UPS Store. But I never received boxes to return my monitors... Are we supposed to keep them? I know we keep the desk but haven't heard anything else about the monitors...

With losers like Nathan H. Cumsock and Ricky "Fester" Singh running the Optum/Medexpress side, it will only get worse...jump ship while you can instead of working for these sleazy lying sc-mbags

In order for you to receive a box for the monitor(s) your manager has to be aware that you have them and request that the BSL have a shipping box sent to the employee for the return. In my experience, the manager has to know that they need to request the return of the monitor. This is not something that is specifically provided in the guidelines to managers. They do say that equipment can be dropped off at headquarters or a satellite office. The company doesn't really seem to track who has a monitor, how many or whether you return them.

They wanted my monitor back but it was only 6 months old. Probably depends on the age. They didn’t want my 10 year old one so off to recycling it went along with a wireless headset and all the other junk I was sent over 15 years of remote work…

They only want the laptop since security risk with the storage media. Also can be redeployed to the remaining minions once they wipe it clean. Everything else has no value and is a cost to ship and dispose of. Cheaper to abandon just like the employee

I was told to only return the laptop and charge cord. They did not want the monitors, headphones, if you had a camera they did not want it, keyboard, mouse. Like it was a gift to me from them. What a joke.

I was laid off in April. I received a second box for the monitor a week after I returned my computer

If they didn't request for it, then keep it. Why are you asking question about free stuff when you are laid off?

They mostly just want the laptops, due to PHI. Other than that - if they don’t ask for it, don’t volunteer it! There were several items that they didn’t ask for, and I kept. Some not useful, some (not gonna specify!) a nice little parting gift. I know one of my riffed friends made a concerted effort to give the articles of Optum branded clothing they had to some rough looking people - not gonna say more, but let’s say Optum doesn’t come off looking upscale lol.

They don’t want the monitors. I know this from being laid off Twice. Either keep them for your next job, give them away to someone who needs them or trash them.

I'd recommend breaking the monitor and then returning it to them using a pre-paid label paid for by UHC (UnitedHypoCrites).
