Another week of holding Zoom calls to say goodbye to wonderful Content Managers who have been laid off in the latest round of cuts. Another week of reading their heartfelt, eloquent email farewells. Another week of feeling sad for them, sadder for us because their work was stellar, their efforts mighty, their contributions too many to list here or to document adequately for their replacements. I know it's the way of the world. I know it's all about the bottom line. I know it's far from over. I know I'm likely next.

Happily, this is not "the way of the world" It's just the Cengage way. Ride this out knowing that you'll be better off once it's over.
It is sad. The best thing you can do for yourself is find another opportunity and leave. There are other companies out there. It’s a tough job market, so start looking early. It’s better to have some control than just sit around and wait for your turn.
