Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

15% * 134k =20.1k employees

I’m no math genius but Intel’s press release says both 15% and 15k employees affected. Does Intel not know how many employees they have ?

Where did you get the 134k employee number? Look at page 8 of the earnings report pdf from intc.com. It has a breakdown of the Intel employee numbers. Not counting subsidiaries or NAND, Intel had 111.4k employees at the end of Q1-24. Subtract the 8% that took VSP and left as of yesterday 7/31 and it leaves you with ~102k. This is the starting point for the >15% announcement today. The total number should end up to be in the 85-90k range by the of 2024.

Learn from Elon Musk? He has driven that company into the ground

To be honest, 15% off cut won't save a bit for this company.... Learn from Elon Musk... this was some news one and half years ago: "Elon Musk says he’s cut about 80% of Twitter’s staff".

In the employee email he said 15%, in the earnings call he said "greater than 15% and then in the ACM he said "around 15%."

Truth & Transparency? WHERE???
