Big reorganization on the security side. Is Broadcom planning to divest the Symantec/Carbon Black security business soon?

Symantec team overall are just not seasoned.
HT has no idea how to run this firm, check stock price even after so many layoffs
Agree. Very insightful. Well, I assume that HT will let partners take it over and milk the last few (52) strategic accounts.
HT was offered $1B for Carbon Black prior to hand jamming it into Symantec. If he would have accepted that deal and put the $1B into growing Symantec he might have a decent little business in his hands. Unfortunately I don’t think HT knows how to run a cybersecurity firm, or a software business at all.
lol if Broadcom was planning on doing that they could have done it before they butchered both Symantec and Carbon Black.
The capital investment required to salvage these two entities is so high that any investor would be better off building a new security company from scratch.
The reorg is in the works right now. Several long-time managers / directions have been laid off. BU is trying to move sales, sales engineering, support, services, etc. to partners in terms. HT wants to focus on the top 52 accounts worldwide. I think the end is finally coming with Symantec.
A very experienced engineer, who had worked at both Symantec and Broadcom on building and managing data platform infrastructure, data pipelines, and services on GCP, was laid off last Friday. They were the only person on the team with the expertise to build it and made the most significant contributions. The Symantec management team does not have a deep understanding of the new technologies used in the cybersecurity industry.
Carbon Black product is much better than Symantec EDR (Endpoint Protection). Symantec EDR will either be sold or discontinued.

When is the reorg and what are the changes
