TSMS has 10x the capacity of Intel.
You can’t compare them.
Where did you get the 8% VSP number for 7/31? I thought DCAI VSP % was around there but not 8% for the entire company.
Now do market cap of those two combined
That is roughly equal to Intel right now. It is design shop and a foundry which is equivalent to Intel. The difference being they have better products and process technology so they are making money and guiding to make even more.
Headcount info posted yesterday:
Look at page 8 of the earnings report pdf from intc.com. It has a breakdown of the Intel employee numbers. Not counting subsidiaries or NAND, Intel had 111.4k employees at the end of Q1-24. Subtract the 8% that took VSP and left as of yesterday 7/31 and it leaves you with ~102k. This is the starting point for the >15% announcement today. The total number should end up to be in the 85-90k range by the end of 2024.
