Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Mo--ns

20 years ago Intel had about 750 employees for every VP. Now it's 190, so to save money and streamline decision making they are lowering that ratio further. Brilliant!

Where do these numbers come from? Ive been curious to how many VPs we've had for a long time as there seem to be new ones every quarter or so...

Let’s be real. A very small team like a Nuvia is able to create a competitive CPU, the bread and butter of Intel. Intel has about 130k people but can’t even get the main money making product in line. When bloat of this level occurs you need to do the 80% firing like Twitter. There is so much fat at Intel it puts government agencies to shame.

Great point. That’s the metrics we should use to benchmark against the rest high tech companies. Ask this question on Circuits.

If they pair down on them most likely they get rid of the wong ones. About recent 1/3 of recent VPs are DEI rebalancing and they will be protected.
