So even if you decline CPM and are not a ER candidate, you may get selected for the involuntary round in October. And even if you don't get selected in October, do you really want to stay here ?
I guess best option is to get a job offer by Nov 15th which the last day of involuntary round.

Not many hiring right now. Should have done this few years ago. The writing been on the wall for 9 years now (2015 ACT, remember?) Unfortunately, many think its not going to be them. Right now, is the OH SH!T moment.
Either way good luck moving forward. At the end it will all work out OK. Always does.
