Intel is parting ways with 15% of its workforce

Intel is leading the way toward maximizing the corporate profits by cutting 15% of its workforce!! Pat has the guts to do it. Michael should take a note!

Intel is changing its focus, AMD has come along, but the big threat is NVIDiA (now moving from GPU into the CPU business as well, and being most valuable company on the planet). So Intel is going for Foundry (look it up via Google). Moving forward they are happy to produce CPU's for AMD, NVIDA, Apple, etc. Less people needed for this, and well subsidized (funded) by the US CHIPS and Science Act.

Why should Michael take not? Seriously what kind of person wishes layoffs on their co-workers. Rather than laying off 15 percent they should focus on delivering better products quicker and fixing outdated tools and internal systems.

Intel’s situation is completely different. Intel had the best CPU’s for several years and they sat complacent with minor upgrades each year. AMD continued to innovate and eventually created fast and efficient chips that destroy intel in the Datacenter and home. Amd has the superior products across the board. You combine this with Intels colossal 13th / 14th gen issues and Intel could be doomed to go out of business. Intel invested billions into getting into GPU’s and that was a failure as well. Intel is as good as dead.
