This post has nothing to do with any potential (and inevitable) layoffs, but more of a bode of encouragement. I was one of the many that was selected in the first round of layoffs from MedSol in October, 2023. As you may expect, I was devastated and blind-sided by the news as I was a month and a half away from celebrating my 3-year anniversary with the company I believed to be the best professional decision I had made. I felt very betrayed by the decision as well as a lot of confusion as to why I was selected to depart from the company. I was very seasoned and experienced onboarding specialist with almost 5 years in the industry total. My manager wasn't even informed that I was being cut from my role.
I say all of this, not for sympathy, but as a way to say that even the most disappointing situations can pave way for the biggest blessings. I was able to find employment shortly after with a small company, in a new industry, that was able to recognize my talents and work ethic. If you are finding yourself in the same boat in the future, and you see this post, I hope you're able to recognize that you are far more than a number on a spreadsheet and an expendable "asset" to a company. Godspeed to all of you! I pray you find the best fit for you and your work/life balance.
