Some claim only sales will be affected next week. Is that true? Is the rest safe for now?

Historically, it is sales at the very beginning of the quarter and the all other functions follow in the weeks after. So, if you are not in sales and make it through next week, don't assume that is the end. Heck, the way it has been the past few years, it has been a constant trickle layoffs for all roles outside of sales.
I laugh at anyone that says "Safe for this round" - Like your manager is going to tell you you aren't safe. 99% of the managers aren't going to tell you, and in some cases they don't even know.
"for this round"! Who wants to work for a company that has no loyalty to its employees - tenured, new, whatever.. DELL does not care. Look out for yourself, and take care of yourself. If an opportunity comes up, take it.
My manager, in global operations, indicated that our org would be safe. But I guess we’ll see.
Idk
We too were told that engineering and support were relatively safe. Better not be listed as "remote" either.
The down voters are working extensively here..
No, it's not only sales.
nope, its widespread and across various groups. Engineering, Sales, Consulting, Services, IT, etc
No it’s absolutely not true, it’s not sales only.
Can only speak for engineering. Our direct manager indicated what they were told was engineering was safe "for this round." They had no additional information about what other orgs might be affected.
