Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Food for Thought

Bain & Company Consulting advising Dell to reduce staff to meet a $1M in revenue per head, based on an industry benchmark.

For the fiscal year 2024, Dell reported a revenue of $88.4 billion, marking a 14% decrease from the previous year.

Reports also indicated that Dell currently employs approximately 120K individuals, down by about 13,000 employees from the previous year, reflecting a 9.77% reduction in their workforce.

You can do the math.

Bain is 100% involved, people telling not are not close to the matter.

$1M in revenue per head is the industry benchmark so it really doesn't matter who the consulting firm is, you can rest assured Dell is aiming for it. So per the OP, you can do the math.

Sorry but Bain is gone. Sales leadership felt they were too intertwined with Dell and brought in McKinnsey. Anyone who says any different has not actual details.

Bain was let go almost a year ago and McKinnsey has been running the entire sales reorganization.

It's probably a bit more than 10% being chopped. We'll know soon.

look at revenue per headcount between, the industry and competitors. you can google that or use AI. The results will tell you exactly why. The gap is enormous.
