What's your perception of 5G group within Dell. We are not doing great and don't think we have a product and money to compete against primary RAN vendors.
I'm worried, this is one of those area that might get axed if reduction happens.

the question you should as is the following: Does the product that I sell have priority in the company? Does the product have rich margin? Does the product have huge drag of other products that are margin rich. If the answer is yes to any of those 3, you're good. Be honest in answering them.

From PS- no idea will still even had a 5g team.
RAN is a tough market right now. The whole telco world is repositioning/consolidating as the OpenRAN momentum has slowed. I am not sure Telco GenAI fills the revenue gap for any company.
If you believe because your “manager” tells you that you are safe keep believing that dream.
The layoffs at Dell are decided out of your “manager” decisions.
The decision comes from VP level and without your direct managers input.They are informed that here are the people that will no longer have a job at Dell no ifs ands or buts.
Sad truth is Not a single thing that you or anyone else can do about it.
Yes, 5G at Dell would be on the list is my guess. I am on GPUs, and we make tons of revenue. Our manager informed that our team is safe.
