Have the employees in the stores on the closing 150 list been notified already? Or will they notify the employees year by year 50 stores at a time?

Macy's Taylor MI - Southland Mall. Closing so they can get out of a lease during sale of the mall.
What about South?
Michigan - Oakland and Lakeside. Before year end (Feb 1 2025)
Macy’s Downtown Providence said to be on closure list

Downtown Sacramento bites the dust

Michigan - Oakland and Lakeside. They just closed the whole mall at Lakeside to re-develop.Macys and JCP are left
The building at Macy's in downtown Philly is beautiful and historic. But the itself Macy's is sad. It's been a couple years since I've been there, but what I remember is that the product selection is poor, the place was messy and there is no customer traffic.
No surprise on Macy’s Center City where a mu---r occurred inside the store in downtown Philly. Looks like Macy’s is withdrawing from all downtown and city center locations.
One of the things that surprised me is that Center City Philadelphia might make the 150 list. If anyone else heard rumor or confirm this please comment. Macys Executive mentioned this months ago unless they are totally off or something changed.
Isn't there more than one store in Brooklyn? There's one downtown and one at King's Plaza. And there's also a stand alone Backstage, I think.
Macy’s Downtown Los Angeles was on the “list” since it was announced February. The only store in its LA North district.
Two stores that are posted here, Brooklyn and downtown LA were not on any list that I’ve seen before.
Brooklyn surprises me in that the area is still very vibrant and they just spent a ton of money renovating the old A&S store.
Those closings will leave two more major downtowns without a traditional department store.
From what I can tell, only Manhattan, San Francisco (Bloomingdale’s), Sacramento, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington are left, although I suppose you could include Seattle (Nordstrom), Portland (Nordstrom) and Dallas (Neiman-Marcus) if you wanted.
Marc Mastronardi messed everything up with integrated selling! He shouldn't have interfered with that part of the business. Now, out of the blue, he's leaving Macy's to become the president of Equinox!
Our store (Macy’s Downtown Los Angeles) announced to its employees on 07/30, while our store manager Henry is on “vacation” and his boss came in to read the script. She read the script and went on her way. Didn’t really care because she’s (Kathy) not losing her job. He couldn’t even face us because he only cares about himself, how pathetic actually. He gave up on this store after we came back from Covid. We came back to no store events and no recognition breakfasts for employees. Seemed like he cut everywhere he could for bonuses. Running the store on not even half the managers it should have for every department. Now we run business until December. In January liquidation starts and we close to the public by March. Good riddance! Finally we’re free!
Macy’s Will Be Out of La Cumbre Plaza by 2028

Ventura CA is closing by first quarter 2026 as per city planner.
In Michigan , Oakland, Lakeside and Traverse City
Michigan list is 2/3ds accurate.
Hearing Oakland, Fairlane and Lakeside. Is there actually going to be a press release or was that made up?
And does anyone have the scoop on Virginia stores?
Since they announced some store closings today effective in January, can someone transfer to one of those stores and still get a severance? Seems like a policy violation if they were allowed to do so. TIA
2 stores that were announced in my District were not on this so called "LIST". Again guys, it all depends on your store's profibility and your Real Estate Value. Wishing all those affected the best and hopefully the colleagues that do want to continue, will be placed in going forward stores.
That list is incorrect
That’s all 150 not the 50 that were told this morning…
Puyallup, WA is closing. Liquidation starts January and they will close March.
Macy's Brooklyn is closing, was announced to employees this morning
50 stores were told this morning. press release later today.
I also heard the first 50 had scripts read in the store rallies today. Does anyone know what stores are closing?
The list is not accurate at all. The first 50 stores were told this morning that they are closing
In NJ Livingston, Hamilton and Brunswick Square are definitely going to close. Monmouth could be removed if the renovation plans go well. In NY, Jefferson Valley, Parkchester, Hampton Bays and Massapueqa are all on the 150 closing list. The Boulevard Mall in Amherst site has a chance to come of the list depending on how the redevelopment project goes.
I have a very good internal source confirm that in NJ only Livingston and Hamilton are confirmed as 150. The other 2 mentioned have been on and off with Monmouth Mall removed for now as Mall undergoing large 2 year renovation. Woodbridge NJ could be added depending on new mall ownership plans. In PA I got confirmed that Exton and Oxford Valley are in the 150.
Haven't you been paying attention? The list has been out for a while. See the list in the posts below.
