Joliet restart cluster

I hope the overpaid consultants and executives are happy with the cluster they have created at Joliet. Hard to restart a facility when you have fired all of the experienced engineers. I’m sure the BTC can get it restarted from India over Zoom though right?

Reminds me of the book Atlas Shrugged. We have turned the keys over to the destroyers. Who is John Galt? Time to quit working so hard to keep the trains running for these HIPOS

Must be a sh-tshow….people being flown in from every site in NA to assist.

It wasn't the site folks and the site had way more issues occur than the power outage. They also had to wait for the county to restart the power.

The issues started higher up which is a deeper problem at ExxonMobil (Executives). I do agree on the experience part. We pip the experience folks and then complain about not having experience.

Let's have friendly match like cricket style. KLTC versus BTC versus EMHC. We can see who will win. You all will see it is BTC number 1!

BTC = Best Technical Capabilities
KLTC = Keep Losing The Capabilities
EMHC = Every Manager Hinders Capabilities

@OP Plenty of high-profile incidents at EM facilities (Baytown comes to mind) where “experienced engineers” were present. Not sure I’m following you here.

From what I’ve seen, most of the engineering work at EM process facilities is done by third-party contractors and consultants, and it’s been that way for years. All the EM engineers really do is oversee the contractors and call up vendors screaming whenever they see a tiny bump in their process data. EMHC is even worse. Not sure what justifies your massive egos, but most of you are nowhere near as technically competent as you seem to think you are.

Doubt it’s the site folks, but when you only got a few that have seen a full site power outage surrounded by a bunch of DW’s HiPo’s worried about their careers they’ll get ignored or pushed aside.

This is what happens when you apply Darren's management style. If you fire the people that know how to get things done, then you cannot restart your assets when they go down. Of course Exxon will hide this truth under the rug to protect Darren's public image of a true leader. But we all know he can't do anything right.

Didn’t they just have a turnaround that was led by the site ? Interesting that the so called site experts and local talent is so bad that this can happen just after a turnaround
