Does anyone know if the chapter 11 filing impacts severance?

Laid off today and received severance

@xfc+1tGy5V0h Had they signed the package and started receiving payments pre-bankruptcy or were they laid off after filing/or had no signed package already?
Don't count on anything. I have several friends who were laid off during bankruptcies; none of them got a severance package.
Per an email from HR after I asked this question, we will not be impacted (those receiving severance at the moment).
They said it wouldn’t affect it. Hopefully that helps vs. the unhinged person laughing at you
