Could you imagine!
He is the antithesis of Optum’s veiled dishonesty.
Expose away
hulu/netflix documentary
okay OP, I like this idea. John Oliver would be the perfect news reporter for this! how do we make this happen!?
John Oliver, if you are reading this, please do a segment on UHG and its subsidiary, Optum, the greediest company in the world.
There is A LOT to report on: This company has disguised their financial crimes and theft of honest people’s money, all under the cloak of “helping people live healthier lives”. Yet, they are the symbol of the modern gilded age, with the primary goal of consuming infinite amount of money by acquiring competition, then either dissolving them, or rebranding them, THEN requiring patients’ in network options be limited to its subsidiaries, in order to pocket more of their members’ money, AND THEN cutting off financial protection that the members were sold, and paid, when they become severely ill…….all of this in order to continue to pocket more from them!! They also increase the premiums of their newly acquired employees, then layoff hundreds, sometimes thousands, of them with NO notice, THEN submit survived employees to abuse, toxicity, discrimination, etc. in order to either fire them or include in the next round of layoffs, ONLY to turn around and rehire someone new and cheap, or offshore that position for an even much lower rate.
There’s more John!!
Previous and current antitrust investigations yield no change, as UHG has influential lobbyists and a legal team to help prevent any consequence. Current concerns of monopoly do not stop UHG/Optum of pursuing more acquisitions of healthcare companies. From medical groups, clinics, software companies, utilization management companies, national home health companies, pharmacies, IT, billing management, EMS, dialysis, the list in which they extend their power over in healthcare goes on! It’s a monopoly. There are red flags everywhere, screaming conflict of interest!! It should be illegal for a health insurance company to own health care companies. They are making money off of people getting sick, and people becoming unemployed.
And add to that, America’s cyber infrastructure and the safety of its people are at risk from the multiple hacks that UHG fails to address effectively. This is the consequence of unchecked growth, of unchecked control. There is absolutely NO accountability for all the lawlessness. Just rewards of more profit.
The lack of humanity, from the measly department manager on a power trip looking to climb the corporate ladder of greed, to the senior director who is not even qualified in anything healthcare related, all the way up to the CEO himself, it’s so disgusting.
John Oliver, if you are reading this, you will need more than a segment, so Andale, Órale get on it.
That's exactly is your problem instead of supporting those fighting for Americans your want buffoons to narrate the story.
sure and a focus on the Angry Mouse Jiggler that was fired and disparages the company online.
