Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Propaganda posts in LinkedIn

Reading some of the posts on LinkedIn you'd think we're all working at the best company in the world where nothing is ever wrong and everybody is happy all the time. Are people really that delusional or is LinkedIn just mostly populated by kiss-as--s who are hoping to score some points with their fairytales?

Linkedin is a place where anyone can inflate bubbles as much as they want and can spew propaganda tales as much they want. Let us not ignore the fact that Linkedin is the place where the current bubble we are living in (the AI one) was inflated.

I’m tired of seeing the same post from multiple people at Dell. Posting is a sham and most people are connected to Dell folks so it’s the same message posted multiple times. Annoying!

As others have mentioned, LinkedIn is great resource for finding your next role, especially if you've had the good sense to connect with customers, vendors, and partners outside of Dell. If you're connected with quality professionals, they'll be your best resource to getting in some doors.

If you're only connected with all Dell folks on Linked, it will be tougher.

I get it from the sense of… it’s postering and general phoniness. I have a problem with any of that stuff because it’s so far from reality and it’s people in denial… the fact is…. It’s social media. It has its value, but take everything you see on there with a grain of salt because it’s normally either embellishment or severely lacking context.

It's social media and boomers are thirsty for likes. Interesting when it's a sales rep getting over 100 likes and only one is from someone outside of Dell. Clout chasing for internal attention does resonate with many leaders and may lead to a promotion.

When we went through the big February round, LinkedIn was an advantageous platform to help us land those affected new homes. My post reached over 25k LinkedIn members. Of those I helped land with partners, over 50 were placed the first round. In August, viewership doubled, and over 100 of those affected found homes with partners. LinkedIn isn’t just gloating about work activities, it’s an incredible resource to build and market your brand, so if god forbid you’re one of those affected, your network will help you find your next opportunity. Just my two cents fwiw.

You can't be mad at people for pandering to keep their jobs lol not that it will help, but it may help them land the next job.
